Irish Sport Horse Magazine #15

Happy New Year; The Start of a New Decade in Irish Equestrian Sport.

Well the 2010’s were an amazing decade for Irish Equestrian Sport, but now as we head into a New Year and a New Decade, our Irish International Equestrian Stars are in better shape than ever.  2020 is an Olympic Year and it is the first year in Ireland’s History that we will be fielding 3 Equestrian Teams at the Olympics; Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing.  So Irish Eyes will definitely be smiling, as we have a lot to look forward to in the Summer of 2020 when the Olympics will get under way.

This Issue of Irish Sport Horse Magazine we have tons of quality content as always; in our Horse Health Section I discuss Suspensory Ligament Injury in horses, the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options available if your horse should sustain this type of injury.

In our Horse Training Section Jessica Soley, discusses Getting Your horse Fit for Competition as the New Eventing Season approaches.  Plus we have a short report from Equine Therapist Sharon Bronsveld, as she is organising some Barefoot Trimming Work Shops for Horse Owners.  Sharon shares her experience of what was involved in the December Work Shop, with some super pictures of the day.  These training days are an excellent way for Horse Owners to learn more about the horse’s feet, and perhaps develop the grounding of a new skill.  The next Barefoot Trimming Work Shop will take place on the 8th, 9th and 10th of February.  There are details at the bottom of Sharon’s piece about how you can find out more.

As it is both a New Year and a New Decade, just for fun, we reached out to the Irish Horse Sport Magazine Chief Astrologer, Mystic Mare-E; Mare-E shares her readings of what is in store for you and your horse as we head in to a Super 2020 Competition Season.

Also just because its January the month of Bargain Hunting, we went out in search of the Top Horsey Bargain Buys, giving you some super choices so that you can save some money while buying some quality equestrian gear.

To finish up we have our News & Results Round Up, sharing just how well our Irish Equestrians finished 2019 while making a cracking start to 2020.

As always we hope that you enjoy Irish Sport Horse Magazine, and if you would like to us include any topics or indeed you would like to write for our magazine, you can contact us via the website.

Until next time from all the Team here at Irish Sport Horse Magazine, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy & Successful New Year and A New Decade!

To Your Equestrian Success,

Roma
